How we help

We help by helping you find a solution to your issue. When we experience a decline in our mental health our ability to understand or access information, accessing treatment or challenging decisions can be impaired. Everyday tasks can feel overwhelming, frightening or confusing and when we feel like this, dealing with daily issues and problems can add further stress to our distress.

Advocacy can support you to manage or solve the issues that are impacting upon your life, that prevent you from finding solutions to problems that you are unable to solve independently.

We adopt the principles of empowerment, positive choice and user involvement to work collaboratively on matters important to you. Our trained, professional advocates respond to your needs to address specific advocacy goals. Advocacy is offered across a wide range of issues or during a period of major change and will continue until an outcome or resolution has been reached, or when you decide you no longer need support. Support can take place either face to face or via telephone, email, Teams/Zoom in your home, residential & hospital settings or within the community.

Who we help

Adults experiencing either an undiagnosed or diagnosed mental health condition or a simple decline in your mental health that is causing low mood or anxiety symptoms, who wish to improve their circumstances and are unable to resolve their issues independently, can access the service.

Advocacy is delivered to those living in Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland & Stockton on Tees. If you are a resident from outside these areas and receiving inpatient care, treatment or support from Roseberry Park Hospital or rehab services, you can access our advocacy support throughout your stay up until your discharge.
